Handle the error “You need a new codec to play this item” when opening a Camera recording file

Are you having trouble opening the Camera video recording file on your computer? Received message “requires the HEVC Video Extension codec pack, available from the Microsoft Store”.

The reason this message occurs is because your computer does not have an H.265 code decoder, you can use the application VLC to open the file or convert the video format to H.264 as instructed in the following video:
