Currently, the new Dahua and Kbvision video recorder product lines support live recording and full quality 5MP playback. Recorder support:
- Dahua: XVR5xxx-I3
On these two product lines, previously only supported 5MP CVI Camera recording at 5M-N resolution (compressed, 5MP Lite). Currently, the company has supported increased display quality, but FPS will be reduced accordingly.
1. Device requirements
To activate enhanced mode, you need to upgrade the DVR’s Firmware to the latest version. In this article, I use:
- DVR: DH-XVR5116HS-I3
- Firmware: V4.001.100Zb03.0.R, Build Date 2023-09-06
- 5MP CVI camera: DH-HAC-HFW1500CMP- IL-A
However, you need to use it in conjunction with a 5MP CVI Camera @12.5 FPS as shown below:
5MP cameras as below will not be supported.
You can simply distinguish supported CVI cameras by looking at the box with the following stamp (DH-HAC-HFW1500CMP-IL-A):
2. Installation instructions
After activating enhancement mode, full support will be available on all channels of the DVR.
5MP CVI enhancement mode will improve image quality, however FPS will be reduced to 6.
3. Actual quality
Because after activating the enhancement mode, the image quality is enhanced and the FPS is reduced to 6, so you will get the quality like the following video:
